Golf is an ever growing reason to visit the Algarve, particularly in the non-summer months when the temperature is a little cooler, visibility is not quite so hazy and flight costs are perhaps a little more reasonable.

With approximately 25 world class golf courses across the Algarve you really are spoilt for choice. But when you go you need somewhere to stay and this is where our apartment comes in; located centrally in the Algarve you are really no more than 48 miles (77 kilometers) to Sagres at the bottom left of Portugal and 56 miles (90 kilometers) to Castro Marim near the Spanish border on the right, therefore, distances are relatively short for such a wide choice of courses.

So, where to play? We have listed a number of courses below, outlining specific details to help you choose where you want to play.

Salgados - The nearest course to our apartment (3 miles / 4.8 km). Founded in 1994, this is a Links course with a large number of water hazards and located very close to Praia de Gale on the beach. It is a well balanced course with four par 5 holes and four par 3 holes. Fantastic views and a windy setting make this an interesting, challenging course.
