Important Information

Entrance: The apartments are entered through a remote controlled gate. Entrance can be gained by a code, which will be disclosed at the time of booking or on arrival. *Please note* we are located at the bottom of a fairly steep hill (pictured below)

Keys: An outside front door key is kept in a secure coded compartment by the front door. Our managing agents (Santomero in Guia town - see below) are close by should there be any problems with gaining access.

Car Parking: Our designated parking space is number one, which is at the bottom of the hill on the right hand side a couple yards from the front door. However, if there are spaces, it is just as easy to park by the entrance to the pool.

Maid Service: There is a maid service twice a week. They will remove rubbish, clean the bathrooms and change bedding as appropriate and required.

Towels: Hand and shower towels are provided but please bring your own beach / pool towels.

Windows: All windows have safety metal shutters that should be lowered to help keep the rooms cool in the summer months and for extra safety at nights or when out of the apartment during the day.

Guia Folder: A folder is situated in the lounge with appropriate emergency numbers, medical facilities, sight-seeing locations and places of interest. Also, if you have any recommendations for our future guests, please leave feedback, a brochure or card in the television unit.

Wi-Fi: We do have wi-fi installed; the password is available in our guide book.

Clothes Line: We have a washing line placed outside between the two pillars so that you can hang up any washing to dry if required as well as a clothes horse in the utility room.

Rubbish: There are large removal bins (Biffa style) near the entrance to Quinta dos Alamos if required for recycling and general rubbish.

Fire Extinguishers: These are placed strategically throughout the apartment (main entrance, kitchen) in case of emergencies.

Temperature: Whilst the climate is generally very hot, between the hours of 1 – 3 p.m. the sun can be extreme and therefore caution should be taken in spending too long exposed. We have a selection of games, books and coloring books to keep your little ones entertained indoors.

Floors: The hallway and lounge areas are tiled. We urge that children refrain from running particularly if they have just returned from the pool as they may slip and fall over.

Air Conditioning: We do not have air conditioning as the temperature at night is nice and cool. We do have fans in the bedrooms, which are sufficient and much quieter.

Airport: The nearest airport is Faro, approximately 35 minutes away. The airport is modern and efficient. Main airlines are Easy jet, Thomson, British Airways, Monarch and Flybe.

Car Rental: Whilst a car is not essential (buses and cab fares are inexpensive) for real freedom and ability to explore Guia, the Algarve and beyond, we recommend hiring a car. There are many companies based out of Faro airport (including Europcar, Holiday Autos, Avis). Driving is on the left hand side. Our agents, Santomero, can also organise taxi transfers if required.

The Algarve operates a toll system on the motorways with infrared cameras picking up car number plates and charging accordingly. The system is very efficient and all hire cars have a “box” installed, which records the journey. The car hire company will subsequently charge you for the journeys undertaken but is inexpensive. There are no toll charges away from the motorways.
